ED Attaches Properties Worth Rs. 1.56 Crore in Srinagar Under PMLA

Srinagar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached seven immovable properties worth approximately Rs. 1.56 crore belonging to Imran Baba and Mrs. Sageena Yaseen, partners of M/s Baba Enterprises. This action has been taken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
The attached properties include:
1. 17 Marlas of land situated at Khasra Nos. 1329, 1330, 1331, 1332, 1334, and 1335, Khewat No. 92 and Khata No. 182 in Mouja Barinambal, Srinagar.
2. 26 Marlas of land at Hyderpora, Srinagar.
3. A residential house located in Hyderpora, Srinagar.
This move is part of the ED’s ongoing efforts to curb money laundering activities and ensure that the proceeds of crime are not enjoyed by the accused. The attachment of these properties prevents the accused from transferring or disposing of the assets until further investigations and legal proceedings are concluded.
The ED’s action underscores its commitment to upholding the provisions of the PMLA and targeting assets acquired through unlawful means. The case continues to be under investigation, with more developments expected as the probe progresses.
