Drug peddler arrested in Srinagar, Contraband substance seized
SRINAGAR, May 23: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar has arrested a drug peddler and seized contraband substance from his possession.
One person identified as Mohammad Rafiq Mir son of Abdul Rashid resident of Bahrampora Rafiabad was arrested for drug supply offences and has been taken to Police Post Bagiyas where he remains in custody.
Officers at the checkpoint established at Guzarbal Chowk halted a truck bearing Registration No. JK05G 1424 and seized 210 bottles of codeine phosphate and 720 capsules of Spasmoproxyvon from the possession of the accused person.
In this regard, a case FIR No 72/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Safa Kadal and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
