DLSA Bandipora organises legal awareness programme for Senior citizens
BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 12(PTK): The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora on Tuesday organised a Legal Awareness programme regarding the rights of Senior citizens at Government Higher Secondary School Shadipora Sumbal as part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign.
The programme was organised under the Chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani and in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sumbal
On the occasion, Advocate Abid Hussain Malla and Advocate Aqib, Resource persons delivered speech on Rights of senior citizens and talked about certain rights granted by various laws of our country including Right of Maintenance by children and relatives, Right for proper medical aid and other related problems, Right for social security and integrity, Right for old age pensions and other related benefits, Right against exploitation and ill treatment by others.
In the said programme Senior citizens, Students, Teachers, Staff members of the said institution, staff members of DLSA Bandipora and Para Legal Volunteers participated.
The Secretary DLSA said that another Door to Door programme was conducted by Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of District Legal Services Authority Bandipora and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bandipora at village Laharwalpora Bandipora and spread awareness regarding Legal services schemes, NALSA schemes and other Govt welfare schemes.(PTK)
