Director RDD Kashmir Reviews Rural Development Schemes in Bandipora

Bandipora, May 19 (PTK): Director Rural Development Department Kashmir, Riyaz Ahmad Wani on Tuesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Mini Secretariat Bandipora to assess implementation and progress of various rural development schemes in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Joint Director RDD Kashmir, SE REW, Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Bandipora, Executive Engineer REW Bandipora, Block Development Officers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, a detailed review of major schemes and developmental activities being implemented across the district was conducted with special focus on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin, convergence works, desilting activities, Panchayat infrastructure and rural connectivity projects.

The Director stressed the need for timely completion of works and effective utilisation of available resources for maximum public benefit. He also reviewed desilting works and convergence projects being executed across various blocks and directed officers to accelerate their implementation for sustainable rural development and improved public utility creation.

Reviewing progress under PMAY-G, officials informed the meeting that significant progress had been achieved in completion of sanctioned houses across the district. The Director directed officers to ensure timely completion of all pending houses and transparent delivery of benefits to genuine beneficiaries.

The meeting also reviewed the status of Panchayat Ghars, UT Capex works and geo-tagging of assets under various schemes. The Director appreciated the department for achieving substantial progress in implementation of developmental programmes.

Special emphasis was laid on development and maintenance of play fields across Panchayats. The Director instructed officers to identify suitable land and prioritise sports infrastructure to promote youth engagement and sports activities in rural areas.

The meeting further discussed staff position, infrastructure requirements and measures for strengthening field-level implementation of schemes across all blocks of the district.

The Director stressed the need for better coordination among field functionaries, regular monitoring and strict adherence to timelines for effective and transparent implementation of rural development schemes in Bandipora district.(PTK)
