D&FCO’s Edible Oil Surveillance Drive commences
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: The Food Safety Wing of Drugs & Food Control Organization, Kashmir today commenced its 14 day Surveillance Drive for Edible Vegetable Oil, Multisource Edible Oil and Vanaspati.
The drive is undertaken on the directions of Commissioner, Food & Drugs Administration, J&K w.e.f 01.08.2022 to 14.08.2022.
During the drive, 05 samples of Mustard Oil, 02 Samples of Vanaspati, 03 Samples of Multisource Edible Oil and 08 Refined Soyabean Oil. The surveillance drive is being undertaken to collate the data for non-compliance on part of the Manufacturers and to curb the adulteration of Edible Oil in the food market as it constitutes a significant part of the daily basket.

The Deputy Commissioner, Food Safety, Kashmir, Shagufta Jalal, said that the calendar has been devised by the department to ensure staggered sampling so that wide range of Edible Oil Samples are lifted. She said that the testing of these samples shall be done on fact track basis.
She added that the department is committed to ensure safe and wholesome food for the consumers and such commodity specific drives shall continue in future as well.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KUPWARA, AUGUST 01: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue(ACR) today paid a surprise visit of Government Degree College Boys, Kupwara where Term End Examination June 2022 of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is going on .
The ACR interacted with the Superintendent of examination, vis-a-vis students and took stock of facilities and other examination related matters.
He was informed that the IGNOU is conducting Term End Examination June 2022 across the country and the examination has commenced from July 22 this year and will end up on September 05.
The ACR expressed his satisfaction over the fair and smooth conduct of the examination.
He was accompanied by concerned officers.
