DC Srinagar Hands Over Fully Equipped Ambulance to Strengthen Emergency Healthcare Services in Harwan Block
Srinagar, June 10 (PTK): In a significant step towards strengthening emergency healthcare services in the district, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Tuesday handed over a fully equipped ambulance to the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Hazratbal, aimed at enhancing medical transportation and emergency response facilities in Harwan Panchayat Block and other rural areas of Srinagar district.
The ambulance was formally handed over during a ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises in the presence of Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, BMO Hazratbal Dr. Abdul Majeed, ZMO SR Gunj Dr. Shafaqat, ZMO Zadibal Dr. Rubeena, besides other officers from the District Administration and Health Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the addition of the ambulance would significantly strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the Hazratbal Medical Block and serve as a vital resource for patients, particularly those residing in remote, tribal and rural areas.
He emphasized that the ambulance would improve accessibility to healthcare services by ensuring timely transportation of patients, trauma victims and emergency cases to healthcare institutions. He also stressed the importance of its optimal utilization to provide prompt medical assistance and enhance the overall emergency response mechanism in the district.
Akshay Labroo reiterated the district administration’s commitment towards improving healthcare facilities and ensuring better access to medical services for people living in underserved areas.
The newly deployed ambulance is expected to provide substantial support to healthcare teams operating in remote locations and contribute significantly towards strengthening healthcare delivery and emergency medical care across rural parts of Srinagar district.
