DC Ramban reviews implementation of Measles, Rubella Elimination programme
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, on Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Task Force to review the implementation of Measles-Rubella Elimination programme in the district.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Kamal Zadoo; ACD, Ashok Singh; DHO, Dr. Rajinder Kumar, BMOs, ZEOs, CDPO and other officers of concerned departments.
The Deputy Commissioner discussed the strategic objectives of the Measles Rubella Elimination programme by 2023 with the District Task Force comprising officers of different departments.
A detailed discussion was held on the line of action prescribed by the Government for Elimination of Measles, Rubella from the country by 2023. The Health Department was directed to take all possible measures to achieve the set targets.

The DC stressed on the active participation of educational institutions in spreading awareness and sensitizing students about the infection of Measles and Rubella. The DC asked the concerned officers to identify the target groups, conduct surveys, and prepare separate plans for vulnerable groups.
The CMO was asked to start an awareness drive to make the public aware of symptoms. The concerned officers were directed to start the awareness campaign at the village level so that no one was left behind.
The DC further directed the concerned officers to start the process of vaccination at the grassroots level.
