DC Rajouri takes stock of Republic Day-2026 arrangements at DPL

RAJOURI, JANUARY 20(PTK): Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today inspected the preparations being made for the forthcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations at District Police Lines (DPL), the venue for the district level function.

After the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting and took a detailed review of the preparations including the stage arrangements, seating arrangements for guests, public, media persons and students, besides traffic management plans to ensure smooth movement of the general public on the day of the event.

The DC also assessed the preparedness of parade contingents, participation of schools and arrangements for transport facilities for students.

Directions were issued to make available waterproof Canopies, lighting arrangements, functional public address (PA) system, drinking water facility and robust fire and emergency preparedness. He further instructed for illumination of government buildings to mark the occasion in a befitting manner.

It was informed that At-Home arrangements shall be made by Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) and co-hosted by the District Administration Rajouri.

The Deputy Commissioner constituted a Search Committee for identifying recent achievers from different fields belonging to District Rajouri, who will be honoured at the celebrations.
