DC Anantnag Reviews NEET (UG) 2026 Preparations, Stresses Strict Adherence to NTA Guidelines

Anantnag, June 11 (PTK): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Dak Bungalow Khanabal to assess preparedness for the smooth and fair conduct of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination, scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026.

The meeting was attended by senior officers and representatives from various departments, including the General Manager DIC, Additional Revenue Commissioner (ACR), Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), ARTO, City Coordinator (NEET), Police, Traffic Police, Jal Shakti Department, Power Development Department (PDD), Health Department, Fire & Emergency Services, Nodal Officers, Flying Squad members, Duty Magistrates, Centre Superintendents and other officials.

During the meeting, the ACR, who is also serving as the District Nodal Officer for NEET, informed that 9,403 candidates are scheduled to appear in the examination across 29 designated centres in the district. He stated that all necessary arrangements, including the establishment of a district control room, strong room, deployment of nodal officers, magistrates, flying squads and centre superintendents, have already been put in place.

Reviewing the arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, coordination and strict vigilance to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly, transparently and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

He directed all concerned departments to ensure the availability of essential facilities, including uninterrupted drinking water supply, reliable electricity, healthcare services, emergency response mechanisms and accessibility arrangements at all examination centres to facilitate candidates.

Dr. Bilal also instructed officials to formulate a comprehensive traffic management and transport plan for the examination day and ensure that information regarding special transport services is widely publicized in advance for the convenience of candidates and the general public.

Stressing the importance of security and surveillance, the DC directed the concerned agencies to strictly adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and NTA guidelines. He called for robust security arrangements, effective monitoring systems, fire safety measures and other critical support services at and around examination centres.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed the concerned departments to conduct dry runs and mock drills ahead of the examination to assess preparedness and address any gaps.

Reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to facilitating the successful conduct of the national-level examination, Dr. Bilal said all possible support will be extended to the NTA to ensure a fair, transparent and hassle-free examination process.

The meeting concluded with a detailed review of departmental responsibilities and a call for maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance and coordination throughout the examination process.(PTK)
