Covid-19 surge :- Now face mask mandatory in Jammu.

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR JULY 20 Srinagar:- After Ganderbal, Srinagar and Bandipora, use of face mask has been made mandatory in Jammu as well due to rise in Covid-19 cases.

“Whereas, there has been recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the UT of Jammu Kashmir in general and District Jammu in particular, whereas, various preventive measures have been recommended by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Government of India which include wearing of Face Masks, maintenance of social distance and hand hygiene etc. and reiterated by the Department of Disaster Management Relief and Rehabilitation, J&K as well as this office through various SOPs issued from time to time as effective means of COVID-19 containment, whereas, it has become imperative to ensure implementation and observance of all preventive measures such as usage of face masks and maintenance of social distance in all the public places across the District to minimize the spread of Covid-19 infection.” Reads a circular issued by District Magistrate Jammu.

“Therefore, in view of the above it is enjoined upon the general public and all the stakeholders to ensure wearing of face masks at all the Public Places. It is further advised that the Colleges. Schools. Multiplexes. Hotels. Banks. Markets etc. also adhere to the guidelines/advisories issued in this regard. All district/sectoral officers shall ensure usage of face masks by all officers/officials in their respective offices.” It added.
