Covid-19: Coaching institute in Bandipora helps students through pen-drive courses

Bandipora, Mar 18: Amid directions from the district and divisional administration to keep all educational institutions and coaching centres closed till March 31 in the wake of fast spreading deadly Covid-19, a coaching Centre in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district— “the Mind Wire Academy” has started an initiative to record video lectures to distribute the same among the students through various mobile applications.

Sitting at their homes, the students are getting multi-share Apps like share it etc, from class 8th to 12th. According to Press Trust  of Kashmir the academy has decided to keep these videos accessible to everyone, no matter where the student is enrolled.

“The students of Kashmir are sufferers of any kind of disturbance, it may a political unrest or a pandemic like deadly-Coronavirus outbreak,” said the head of the institution, Peerzada Yasir Rafiq.

He added, “After the outbreak of Corona-virus across the world, education institutions at majority of the places were closed, including in Jammu and Kashmir. But students living outside Kashmir have a resource like 4G speed internet, which can be used to take classes from home. But when we talk about Kashmir, we still have 2G speed mobile internet which cannot be used to access video lectures online, so then and idea popped in my mind that to start a pen drive courses.”

Rafiq said that they have always worked and adapted unique techniques in times turmoil, uncertainty, chaos and confusion just to ensure students doesn’t suffer much.

During 2019 lockdown, the Mindwire Academy was the only education institution in the region which managed to complete its syllabus through its unique ways and means. The Academy management believes in affordable, accessible, accountable and responsive education.

Talking about current scenario of health emergency presented by COVID-19 Viral flu, when administrative directive to close all educational institutions, Yasir said, “we have initiated recording of video lectures by our senior and subject expert teachers at the academy. These video lectures get distributed and circulated among the students at the academy office via pen drives and smart phones.”— (PTK)
