Cheating Racket Busted in Drugmullah Kupwara

Kupwara: A significant cheating racket has been uncovered in the Drugmullah area of Kupwara. A complaint was lodged against a woman named Mir Shafeeq, wife of Ali Mohammad Mir, a resident of Daril Tarathpora. She has been accused of running a fraudulent group under the name “SAB KA SAATH SAB KA VIKAAS,” promising extra rations to people in exchange for a subscription fee of ₹200.

The scheme, which has reportedly duped many people across Kashmir, targeted poor and vulnerable individuals. According to local sources, Mir Shafeeq was collecting money from unsuspecting individuals under the guise of providing additional rations through this fake scheme.

Upon receiving the complaint, law enforcement authorities initiated an investigation. As a result, an FIR has been registered under sections 318(4), 338, and 340(2) of the BNS at Police Station Kupwara, and the investigation is currently underway.

The case has highlighted the need for increased vigilance against such fraudulent activities that exploit the poor and needy. Authorities have urged the public to be cautious and report any suspicious schemes to the police immediately.
