Ganderbal – Students of Central University Kashmir staged a protest outside the Tulmulla campus on Tuesday, opposing a substantial increase in tuition fees and inadequate campus facilities.
With banners proclaiming “Fee Hike Rolled Back” and “Education is a Right, Not a Privilege,” the students expressed their frustration over the significant fee hike, which they argue is unaffordable for many.
“Our protest is against the high fees, not the university. We lack basic facilities like clean drinking water and functional washrooms,” said one protester. The students also called attention to the need for improved campus infrastructure.
They claimed that the increased fees have placed a heavy financial burden on their families. Despite repeated appeals for relief, the administration has reportedly been unresponsive. “They have ignored our pleas,” said student Samia Jan. “We have no choice but to protest and demand justice.”
The students are resolute in their stance and plan to continue protesting until their demands are met. “We will keep fighting for our right to affordable education and basic campus facilities,” they affirmed.
