Central Kashmir Women Protest Alleged Fraud: Company’s Promised Free Items Fail to Materialize

In a striking display of unity, hundreds of women from various parts of Ganderbal gathered in Kangan, Central Kashmir, to protest against alleged fraud by a private company, MARAAZ INFRATECH PRIVATE LIMITED.

The protest erupted after news spread that the company was offering free kitchen sets and other item, prompting scores of women to converge at the company’s location near the J&K Bank. However, what started as an opportunity quickly turned into a cause for concern as locals reported discrepancies in the company’s operations.

According to reports from the Press Trust of Kashmir, women were asked to submit documents including Aadhar card copies, bank passbooks, and phone numbers, raising suspicions among the protesters. As the crowd swelled, the demonstration spilled onto the Srinagar National Highway, leading to police intervention and the closure of the company pending further investigation.

While the company claimed that the offer was part of a course for 500 girls in the area, locals demanded a thorough investigation into MARAAZ INFRATECH PRIVATE LIMITED’s activities. The incident underscores the importance of vigilance and accountability in safeguarding the interests of vulnerable communities against potential exploitation.
