Celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohtsav’ NHAI Organized a Plantation Drive*

SRINAGAR (PTK) :  Under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, NHAI PIU-Srinagar

organized a day long plantation drive today. Under this initiative, NHAI PIU-Srinagar planted a

total of 1000 No’s.saplings during the day at Galander, Pulwama Ch. 276.000 to Ch. 277.000

& at Mir Bazar, Anantnag at Ch. 252.000 to Ch. 253.000. Shri Indresh Kumar DGM (Tech) cum

Project Director NHAI PIU-Srinagar graced the occasion and started the planted drive by

planting a sapling along with Commandant, CRPF 110Bn and other senior NHAI officials.

This plantation drive was a part of a nationwide drive that NHAI has organized to mark the Amrit

Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence under the guidance of Ministry of Road

Transport and Highways which is celebrated on Pan India basis by different units of NHAI in

order to spread the message of Environment sustainability.

NHAI’s vision is to saturate plantations along the National Highways collectively by involving

Concessionaires, State Government agencies, Private Plantation Agencies, Women SHGs

through State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Forest & Horticulture experts.
