Block Diwas:DC Bandipora visits Aragam, adjoining areas, Inspects Ongoing Works, interacts with Public

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 19: As a part of public outreach programme of Block Diwas and ongoing Jan Abhiyan, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed, today visited Aragam village of district Bandipora.

He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer R& B, Executive Engineer Shakti, Block Development Officer Aragam, and other officials of the departments.

Deputy commissioner interacted with Panches and Sarpanches besides the general public.

      He reviewed the functioning of  water supply schemes, irrigation facilities, Electricity, construction of toilets under swach bharat mission and the development of roads in Aragam and it’s adjoining areas.

Public demands and issues were enlisted and onspot directions were issued to the concerned officers from the redressal of the issues with the minimum possible time.

Later, Dr Owais paid a visit to Government Model Higher Secondary School Aragam, where he interacted with the students of the various streams.

 He asked student to act as ambassadors against drug addiction and environmental pollution.

He said the biggest threat to mankind  is drug addiction and unabated pollution and that educated youth is real wealth of nation.

 Students, he said, have a larger role of bringing positive and  real change in society.

During the question answer session, Deputy Commissioner shared various success stories of eminent personalities with the students. He also shared with them the problems and difficulties handled by the various public figure in the course of their studies.

He asked students to concentrate on their studies and actively participate in sports activities for moral and physical development.

He advised them to stay away from drugs and immoral practices for the development.

Students also projected their demands like fencing, sports equipments, separate toilet facilities and additional class rooms before the DC.

Deputy Commissioner assured that all the demands will be taken with the concerned departments and their issues will be resolved with in the minimum possible time.
