Bandipora’s Covid-19 tally crosses 80 mark, as Five fresh cases reported today

Bandipora, Apr 18 (PTK): The number of COVID-19 positive patients in north kashmir’s Bandipora district recorded highest now as five more persons were confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.
An official said that with five more people testing positive for COVID-19, the number of cases in the district rose to 80, 02 were reported from Gund-Dachina, One each from Garoora, Quil Muqam and Pethkoor areas of Bandipora.The total number of COVID-19 cases in the district includes ten patients who have recovered and one death is now 80.
An official told that all patients who tested positive for coronavirus today are isolated. Their family members have been moved to the isolation centres, he said. He futher said that the disease is spreading rapidly in Hajin area of block so far, while in Bandipora block has only twenty cases till now with proper control by the authorities, he said.
Meanwhile, authorities have sealed several areas surrounding location of COVID-19 cases or untraced contact cases in Bandipora to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. An official said no movement will be allowed into Red zones of Bandipora.
However locals told that increasing numbers of postive patients have created an atmosphere of panic in entire Bandipora.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, Three persons were booked and put under quarantine in Bandipora as they had been confidently brought back by the relatives from the Naidkhai village which has been already designated as red zone.
The three persons were booked when rapid response team and police got the inputs about their confidential visit from Naidkhai to ward No 5 Bandipora town during last night. (PTK)
