Amarnath Yatra Temporarily Suspended Due to Heavy Rainfall
PTK NEWS DESK
Srinagar, July 6 : The annual Amarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended from both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the Holy Cave due to heavy rainfall on Saturday. Authorities made the decision to ensure the safety of pilgrims, as continuous rain has created slippery and hazardous conditions on the mountain paths.
The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) stated that the Yatra will resume once the weather conditions improve. Pilgrims are advised to stay in their respective base camps at Pahalgam and Baltal, where arrangements for their accommodation and food are being made.
The Amarnath Yatra, dedicated to Lord Shiva, attracts thousands of devotees each year. The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates regarding the resumption of the pilgrimage through official channels.
