Amarnath Yatra Suspended Due To Bad Weather
SRINAGAR (PTK) :The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended from Jammu due to inclement weather conditions and no fresh batch was allowed to proceed from here to the base camps of the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Officials told News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir that, the Yatra has been temporarily suspended by authorities after inclement weather and heavy Rainfall no fresh batch was allowed towards the holy Cave.
They said that over 3,200 pilgrims have been halted at Nunwan base camp and 4000 Pilgrims at Baltal base camp, However yatra will resume after the weather improves.
Meanwhile the 8th batch comprising 7,010 pilgrims on friday left Baghwati Nagar base camp Jammu towards Amarnath cave in the valley.
As per the officials, the fresh batch of pilgrims left in a convoy of 247 vehicles for the twin base camps of Nunwan – Pahalgam and Baltal in the wee hours.
