Baramulla, Aug 25: A probe has been ordered following allegations that a police officer misbehaved with a doctor in the Kreeri area of Baramulla district on Sunday.

According to a copy of the official order, the incident took place when a body was brought to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kreeri by locals and relatives. Initial investigations into the cause of death were inconclusive, prompting police teams to further investigate.

An official stated that police later determined the deceased had been under long-term care at the Soura Institute, suggesting the death was likely not suspicious. However, tensions escalated when the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kreeri police station allegedly misbehaved with a doctor at the hospital.

The incident was promptly reported to senior authorities, leading to a probe being ordered under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Syed Yasir Qadri.

“The inquiry will assess the facts of the case, recommend any necessary disciplinary action, and suggest measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” the order states. The probe team has been instructed to file its report within three days.
