Flood-Like Situation in Achgoza Village After Cloudburst

Srinagar, Aug 17: Achgoza village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been plunged into a flood-like situation following a heavy cloudburst. The intense rainfall has caused a significant rise in water levels in local streams, resulting in flash floods that have inundated the area.
The cloudburst struck the Chowan Keller region, leading to widespread flooding in Achgoza. The sudden influx of water has breached numerous residential homes and other structures, disrupting daily life and causing considerable distress among the villagers.
In response, the administration has initiated a prompt rescue operation to aid the affected residents and ensure their safety. Teams from the Revenue Department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local police are actively working on the ground to address the situation and mitigate its impact.
