JAMMU, July 25:  Jammu police have uncovered a major racket involving forged gun licenses, recovering 435 such licenses, officials announced on Wednesday.

The breakthrough came following a tip-off regarding Tirath Singh, a well-known owner of several gun houses in Jammu, who was allegedly storing fake gun licenses in an under-construction building. Acting on this intelligence, police conducted a raid at the specified location in Gadigarh, near Harward College.

During the raid, authorities discovered a bag containing the 435 forged gun licenses along with various other documents. A police spokesperson confirmed that a case has been registered at the Satwari Police Station, and a thorough investigation has been initiated.

This bust marks a crucial step in addressing the illegal proliferation of firearms and ensuring public safety in the region.
