PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to Jammu and Kashmir

Thursday, June 20 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir today  June 20 and 21 to launch various development projects and lead the International Yoga Day celebrations in Srinagar.During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate major development projects related to road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education. His visit aims to “empower the youth and upgrade the infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.” He will also attend a youth empowerment event in the state. Today at around 6 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 84 development projects worth over Rs 1500 crore in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he will launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP), valued at Rs. 1800 crore.Among the key projects is the inauguration of the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section, aimed at improving connectivity and facilitating smoother transportation in the region. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the development of Industrial Estates, expected to boost economic growth and create employment opportunities.Furthermore, the construction of six Government Degree Colleges will be greenlit to provide accessible higher education to the local population. The Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters to over 2000 people selected for various government positions.On June 21, at approximately 6:30 am, the Prime Minister will attend the 10th International Day of Yoga event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. He will deliver a speech to the assembled audience and join participants in a Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) session, practicing yoga alongside the attendees.
