Tragedy Strikes Rafiabad: Son Allegedly Murders Mother, Arrested Within Hours

The tranquility of Rafiabad village in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district was shattered as a son allegedly committed matricide in the dead of night. The victim, a woman in her late 40s, whose identity remains undisclosed, fell prey to a brutal assault reportedly inflicted by her own son, Amir Wani, known as Gajini, purportedly a driver by profession.
The heinous incident unfolded during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday in Hadipora village of Rafiabad, leaving the community reeling in shock and disbelief. Swift action by the authorities led to the prompt apprehension of the accused, Amir Wani, within hours of the crime, bringing a measure of relief amidst the grief-stricken populace.
Upon discovery, the body of the deceased was swiftly transported to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore for necessary legal-medico formalities. Meanwhile, the wheels of justice began turning as the case was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha, with investigative efforts intensifying to unravel the grim circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
