In a resounding rebuttal at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), India has firmly chastised Pakistan for its hypocritical stance on democracy and its continued support for terrorism. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, Harivansh, utilized his right of reply during the 148th Assembly of the IPU in Geneva, Switzerland, to deliver India’s scathing remarks.

Harivansh minced no words in highlighting the irony of Pakistan, a nation with a dismal track record of democracy, attempting to lecture others on the subject. He dismissed Pakistan’s allegations against India, particularly regarding Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that the region has always been an integral part of India, a fact that no amount of Pakistani rhetoric can alter.

Furthermore, Harivansh called out Pakistan’s blatant support for terrorism, pointing to its history of harboring and aiding terrorists, including the notorious Osama Bin Laden. He underscored Pakistan’s dubious distinction of hosting a significant number of UN Security Council-proscribed terrorists, exposing Islamabad’s duplicitous policies.

India’s message was clear and unequivocal: Pakistan must cease its support for terror outfits that destabilize the region and infringe upon human rights. Harivansh’s remarks serve as a reminder to the international community of Pakistan’s role in perpetuating terrorism and the urgent need for it to address this issue sincerely.

As India reaffirms its commitment to democracy and combating terrorism, it calls upon Pakistan to introspect and take constructive actions for the betterment of its people. Harivansh’s leadership of the Indian delegation at the IPU underscores India’s determination to confront challenges head-on and uphold principles of peace, democracy, and security on the global stage.
