With official sources indicating a likely start date of June 29 this year, preparations are underway to facilitate the spiritual pilgrimage that holds profound significance for millions of devotees across the country.
The decision to initiate the yatra was deliberated upon during a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who also serves as the Chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. Held at the historic Raj Bhawan in Jammu, the meeting focused on orchestrating meticulous arrangements and preparations to ensure a smooth and secure journey for pilgrims undertaking the arduous trek to the holy shrine.
Scheduled to span 52 days, the pilgrimage is slated to culminate on August 19, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, a celebration of the sacred bond between siblings.
“With the Lok Sabha Polls drawing to a close, the administration is poised to shift its focus towards the preparations for the Shri Amarnath yatra, anticipated to commence from June 29 and conclude on August 19,” revealed official sources familiar with the matter. The announcement has set in motion a flurry of activities, as authorities gear up to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims embarking on the spiritual journey.
In anticipation of the yatra, the registration process for pilgrims is expected to commence in the coming weeks, with designated branches of various banks facilitating the registration process. “Once the official announcement regarding the yatra is made, preparations will be expedited with utmost urgency,” emphasized officials, highlighting the significance of timely arrangements to accommodate the influx of devotees.

The enduring faith and devotion exhibited by devotees underscore the profound spiritual significance attached to the pilgrimage, transcending geographical boundaries and cultural differences.
As anticipation mounts and preparations intensify, authorities are committed to ensuring a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for pilgrims undertaking the revered journey to seek the divine blessings of Lord Shiva at the hallowed abode of the Amarnath Cave.
