ADM Bhaderwah constitutes joint committees for special fire safety audit of tourist accommodations
BHADERWAH, JUNE 16 (PTK): Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, today chaired a meeting regarding the conduct of special fire safety audits of hotels, guest houses, lodges, homestays and other tourist accommodation establishments across Sub-District Bhaderwah.
During the meeting, joint committees were constituted for Tehsil Bhaderwah and Tehsil Bhalla. Each committee comprises the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) BDA Bhaderwah, concerned Tehsildar, Assistant Executive Engineer JPDCL, Assistant Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), representatives of the Police Department including the SHO/Incharge Police Post concerned, Fire and Emergency Services Department and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee.
The committees have been mandated to inspect all tourist accommodation establishments and verify the availability and validity of fire safety No Objection Certificates (NOCs), functionality of fire extinguishers, fire alarms and smoke detectors, adequacy of emergency exits and evacuation routes, electrical safety measures and wiring installations, and preparedness of emergency response and evacuation plans.
The ADM directed the committees to complete the audit in a time-bound manner and identify deficiencies requiring immediate attention. He also instructed the Tehsildars of Bhaderwah and Bhalla to submit daily inspection reports regarding compliance status and remedial measures undertaken.
Sunil Kumar Bhutyal stressed that public safety remains the foremost priority and directed the committees to identify potential fire hazards, recommend corrective measures and strictly enforce prescribed safety standards. He warned that any lapse in compliance would be dealt with as per law.
Among those present at the meeting were CEO BDA Bhaderwah, Tehsildars, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Bhaderwah, Treasury Officer and representatives from PWD (R&B), JPDCL, Police Department, Fire and Emergency Services and other concerned departments.(PTK)
