DC Samba reviews drug control measures at NCORD meeting
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SAMBA, NOVEMBER 7: The District Level Committee of Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) today discussed the measures taken to eradicate drug abuse and trafficking at its meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta here at DC office Samba.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on measures taken to curb the menace of drug abuse in the district. The NCORD Committee members informed that a massive awareness campaign has been launched in schools, colleges, panchayat levels, social media platforms to channelise the potential of the youth towards a positive direction.
The possibility of Drug trafficking from across the Border was discussed in presence of authorities from the BSF. The Committee called for putting in place an effective mechanism to ensure zero tolerance against drug peddling from across the border belt.
The Deputy Commissioner laid emphasis on activating counseling centres in schools, colleges and hospitals to rehabilitate the drug addicts. “Open discussion on Nasha Mukt Society at Panchayat level has been a hallmark in enabling drug addicts identification and their rehabilitation in district Samba” added the DC Samba.

In the Community Health Centre, Ramgarh special counseling cell for drug addicts has been opened for the successful rehabilitation process of drug addict youths, the DC Samba informed.
IThe Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned stakeholders to work in tandem and make dedicated efforts to make Samba a drug free district and keep the youth on the right track to enable them to contribute towards the development of the Nation.
She also said that the District Administration was putting in dedicated efforts through its effective preventive measures and rehabilitation strategies, besides creating continuous awareness dissemination to eradicate drug menace from the district.
