DLSA Udhampur organizes awareness event on BBBP scheme

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR UDHAMPUR, JULY 20: District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, under the overall supervision of Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Rajni Sharma, on Wednesday organized an Awareness Programme on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Drug Abuse (focusing on slum areas)”  here at Narsing Dev Institute of Medical Sciences.

Panel Lawyer Advocate Sanjeet Kumar was the Resource Person for the Programme. The aim of the Programme was to raise awareness about the issues related to Girl Child. The students presented their views through extempore speeches on the subject. The main purpose of this Awareness Programme was to sensitize the general masses especially children about the menace of Drug Abuse and its effects on the general society.

Later, the secretary DLSA felicitated the participating students with certificates of appreciation. The Secretary DLSA, while thanking the students and the staff, threw light on the role of girl child in the society and highlighted various initiatives taken under “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”. The Principal of the Institution, Dr. Neha Kohli along with the staff, were also present in the Programme. The students were felicitated by Mrs. Rajni Sharma (Sub Judge) Secretary, DLSA Udhampur.

Earlier, the Resource persons threw light on all the provisions of the NALSA Schemes for victims of Drug Abuse, impressing  upon the gathering, especially Victims of Drug Abuse to come forward and approach different Legal Services Institutions for redressal of their grievances.
