Sought compensation to Fruit Growers

Srinagar Oct 23. The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Saturday expressed serious concern over the damages caused to Fruit Growers in Shopian and elsewhere in Kashmir due to the fresh snowfall

In a statement J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has urged the Govt to assess the losses caused to Orchards in Shopian District and elsewhere in Kashmir due to the fresh snowfall, which has been catastrophic to Fruit Industry, leaving the growers in a great difficulty.

It was very sad to learn about the damages caused to Fruit, the growers need to be compensated for the damages they have suffered due to the snowfall, JKPCC added and emphasized that the losses must be assessed in order to ensure timely compensation to them (growers),JKPCC told the Govt.

The Party also urged the Govt to ensure supply of electricity and availability of essentials in Kashmir in view of the fast approaching harsh days of winter, besides keeping tight vigil on prices of essentials and other required items.(PTK).
