GIRLS BADMINTON LEAGUE IN KARNAH

Press Trust of Kashmir | Karnah :Girls Badminton League, Karnah started at Army Goodwill School, Hajinar on 30 September with 64 girls registering for the competition. Mr Raja Mushtaq from Dept of Youth and Sports, Karnah inaugurated the tournament.
The girls were seen participating with full zeal and enthusiasm since it is the first badminton tournament being held exclusively for them after a long time.
Day two of the Badminton league had a special guest, Mr Faiyaz Ahmed Qureshi, sitting Judge at Srinagar and a resident of Tangdhar visited the venue voluntarily along with his wife and daughter. He encouraged the participants and complimented the organisers for the conduct of a sports event exclusively for girls.
The Women folk of Karnah have taken the Valley by storm in recent past, starting with the Aarogya Sevikas who have travelled to each corner of the valley and empowered the women folk with knowledge and motivational talk of taking control of their families and protecting them against social evil of drugs, corona virus and other medical ailments affecting the families. They also discussed precautions against fire incidents and general first aid for burn victims. Three young girls recently represented Karnah Valley in the Ride Kashmir cycling event held at Baramulla, these enthusiastic girls rode all 65 km from Baramulla to Uri and won the hearts of people apart from awards in the event. Now the latest storm is being created by these young girls who have come out on large numbers to participate in the badminton league showcasing that they are not less than anyone. The finals of the league will be held on Tuesday at AGS, Hajinar.(PTK).
