SRINAGAR SEP 23 (PTK): A major terror attack failed after three Pakistani terrorists were gunned down by the Indian Army on Thursday in Rampur sector near Uri along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. “In the early hours today, an agitation was witnessed in Hathlanga forest of Rampur sector. In a brief operation, the attempt to kill 3 terrorists was aborted. A similar attempt was made on (September) 18, which was thwarted,” General DP Pandey, Chinar Corps Commander told the media.

“We all know very well this year that the army and police are on a mission to give terrorists a chance to return to the mainstream and surrender. Due to this Pakistan was disappointed to see the development. The Pakistani masters of terrorist organizations are being fired upon. He has operated and adopted the mode of operation to kill unarmed police and civilian through pistol. It is a new trend by Pakistan to use pistols in Kashmir as it is easy to attack,” said Gen DP Pandey.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following information about the presence of terrorists there. According to the report, there were 6 terrorists, and a search operation is on to nab the remaining 3. (PTK)
