Two militants killed in Sopore encounter, search on, Internet shut in the area, Train services suspended for the day

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR | SOPORE |Two militants have been killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in PethSeer area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Two unidentified militant have been killed so far while as search operation is on in the area besides that identification of slain militants is being ascertained , an official said.

He said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 52 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in PethSeer on Monday evening.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure authorities suspended mobile internet services in the area as a precautionary measures.

Train services between Budgam to Baramulla and vice versa have been also suspended for a day.(PTK)
