Press trust of kashmir | VIJAYPUR: Asserting that Apni Party’s stand gets vindicated with the participation of all political parties of J&K in Prime Minister’s Meeting, Provincial President, Apni Party and Former Minister, Manjit Singh said that talking to the Govt. of India will resolve the issues being confronted by the people.
“Apni Party came into being when J&K’s prestige was eroded and other political parties were not ready to speak. We started our fight for the restoration of Statehood and protection of land and jobs for the people of J&K and our President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari went to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narender Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to raise issues of people who were in despair after August 5, 2019,” said Manjit Singh, Former Minister.
He said the Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari raised the issues like restoration of Statehood, holding of assembly elections and elected Govt. of J&K.
“Unlike many politicians, Bukhari never plays with the emotions of people. He speaks the same language that he speaks in Delhi and Srinagar. Apni Party always stands for holding dialogue,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that their stand got vindicated with the participation of political parties in the All Party Meet of the Prime Minister as they were reluctant in the past to hold dialogue with the Govt. of India.
In a statement to the press, Manjit Singh said that “We believe in dialogue with the GoI to end the political crises in J&K so that the elections are held. An elected Govt is necessary for the redressal of public issues as the bureaucracy has miserably failed on all fronts to come up to the expectation of the people.
He said that it was, however, unfortunate that some of the politicians of J&K have started misleading people on arriving in Kashmir after attending All Party Meet in New Delhi where they prefer silence.
“They did not utter any word and now, they are trying to mislead people with their statements. Their silence in the meeting has proved their intention. They keep silent in Prime Minister Narender Modi’s All Party Meet and on their return to Kashmir, they have started speaking against the Meet. Their double standard has again been exposed before the public,” he said.
The Former Minister was speaking at a public meeting in Sarore in Samba District which was organised by senior Schedule Tribe senior leader Saleem Alam.
In this meeting, Manjit Singh said that the stand of Apni Party has been vindicated with the participation of mainstream political parties in All Party Meet of Prime Minister in New Delhi.
“Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari had already approached the Govt. of India and demanded protection of land, jobs security, statehood, and elected Govt in J&K,” he said.
He said that Altaf Bukhari had strongly objected to any move to change demography when other political parties were silent and they had left the people of J&K unrepresented.
“Apni Party never left J&K without political leadership and tried to resolve issues concerning the public in both the regions. We never discriminate between the two regions and presented their voices before the Govt of India and were able to get assurance from the Govt that no demographic change will happen,” said Manjit Singh reminding the people that only Apni Party is representing them as a mainstream political party.
“We never changed our stand on issues of public concern nor did we compromise their problems. The political parties who left the people of J&K midway unrepresented should know that their doublespeak has been exposed again,” he added.
He said that they are misleading the youth of Kashmir with their statements and advised them to avoid provoking people for their own political gains.(PTK)
