DDC unfurls tri-color in Bandipora
Applauds COVID-19 warriors

Bandipora, 15 August 2020 (PTK): District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad (IAS) today unfurls the tricolour at Sher-e-Kashmir Sports Stadium Bandipora and took salute at the march past.
Senior Superintendent of police Bandipora Rahul Malik (IPS), Senior Officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion,the Deputy Commissioner extended Independance Day greetings to the people and highlighted the historical background of freedom movement of India. He said our best tribute to them is to take the state to the new era of development and peace and also paid rich tributes to the COVID warriors who worked tirelessly to fight the pandemic.
He appealed to the people to continue to take precautions and follow the guidelines issued by health experts so that the spread of virus is prevented. He said the district administration has established 23 quarantine centres and 15 isolation centres across the district besides making every possible effort to fight the pandemic. He said the construction of District Hospital Bandipora is in final stage and shall be dedicated to the public very soon.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner also launched NASHA MUKTH BHARAT campaign in the district to fight the drug menace in the district.
The Chief Guest distributed prizes among the participants who performed the best in covid crisis. The Deputy Commissioner also gave away appreciation certificates among the employees for doing commendable job in various fields in the district.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora,CPO, Officers from District Administration, police, Security Forces, were present on the occasion, besides people.
Similar functions were held at Sonawari and Gurez sub divisions where National Flag was hoisted to mark the Independence Day. (PTK)
