LeT behind Bandipora attack, militants involved identified: IGP Kashmir

SRINAGAR JULY(PTK Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar today said that two Lashker-e-Toiba militant including a local are involved in Bandipora attack which left senior BJP leader, Sheikh Waseem Bari dead along with his brother and father.

IGP while talking to media today, said that the attack was pre-planned and duo from Lashker-e-Toiba militant outfit that include a foreigner and a local militant Aabid Ahmad are involved in the attack adding that attack was carried out using pistols.

Meanwhile, IGP Kumar along with DIG North Kashmir and many senior police officials visited the spot where BJP leader and his family members were killed.

Pertinently, Sheikh Waseem Bari, who ex-district president of BJP and head of Department of Training for BJP Kashmir was killed when he was in a shop outside his home in Muslimabad, Bandipora. In this attack, two other family members of Waseem, his father and brother were killed. Eight Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of Waseem who were posted at the security of leader have been arrested for questioning.
