Six houses, Madrasa, several Cowsheds, gutted in Bandipora fire mishap

Bandipora, 20 May(PTK): 05 Injured including a journalist, 06 houses, 01 Darsgah, 05 Cowsheds gutted in a massive fire, which engulfed several houses in Gamroo Village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday late afternoon.

Eyewitnesses told that fire broke out at around 03:30 PM from the cowshed of Gh Ahmad in Sheikh Mohalla of Gamroo Village, which engulfed several other structures, including Six residential houses, five cowsheds and a local darasgah were completely gutted in the incident and injured five persons including a local Journalist Suhail Rather.

An Official said that Fire fighters eith the help of Police, Army and Locals after putting in hard efforts, they controlled the fire from spreading further.
Meanwhile no loss of life was reported in the incident.

A police officer told that the cause of the fire could not be known immediately however police have taken cognizance of the incident and investigations into the cause of fire were being ascertained.

Soon after the incident, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Zahoor Ahamad and Tehsildar Bandipora Rouf Iqbal visited the affected families to console them and assess the damage from the tragic incident.(PTK)
