Srinagar administration designates 23 department stores for home-delivering groceries to residents

 

SRINAGAR 03 APRIL(PTK) The district administration Srinagar has designated 23 department stores which will home-deliver groceries as ordered to residents in view of restrictions on business operations and public movement imposed as part of measures to contain spread of COVID-19 in the district, officials said on Friday

District Magistrate Srinagar Shahid Iqbal choudhary has issued order under disaster management in this regard and under this arrangement the administration has designated several department stores which will take orders over telephone from residents and deliver groceries as ordered to homes within their 3-kilometre radius.

The deliveries will be made against minimum charges as applicable.

The designated department stores include

7/11 at Sanatnagar (9622470444), Daily Needs at Nowgam (9796765926), Wholesale Bazar at Bemina (7006429438), Dilshan Shopping Mall at Shalteng (7006451191), Cash & Carry at Jawahar Nagar (9797821359), A-to-Z at Rajbagh (9906492122), Pick & Choose at Lal Chowk (9697478203), Market Place at Nishat (7006136007), Kashmir Mart at Sonwar (9797068176), Gul Traders at Naisarak Gawkadal (9622568000), Royal Bazar at Khanyar (7006014918), Royal Bazar at Lal Bazar (7006958473), Beigh Department Store at Botakadal (9419879190), Treats Special Mart at 90 Feet (9622757688), Wholesale Trading Mart at Rawalpora (9697937707), Home Sense at Parayora (7006908197), Carry More at Barbarshah (7006523117), Ali Baba at Alamgari Bazar (7006809474), KGN Supermarket at Indira Nagar (7780989191), Veth Supermarket at Zakura (7006962607), Capital Department Store at Karan Nagar (8825069898), Mir’s Department Store at Lal Bazar (7006136669) and Houseful at Qamarwari (9622975388).

The order states that each of these stores has designated two staff members who will take orders and then ensure their deliveries at the doorsteps of the orderers.

Dr Shahid said the arrangement has been made for the convenience of the residents — and to ensure adherence to guidelines aimed at containing spread of the disease and smooth management of the situation.(PTK))
