Man drowns while ectracting sand from Wular in Bandipora

Bandipora, 07 March (PTK): A 25-year-old man drowned in Wular in Laharwalpora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, official sources said.
They said that two persons namely Waseem Ahmad Malla (25) S/o Abdul Khaliq and Bilal Ahmad Dar (19) S/o Ab Aziz R/o Laherwalpora Bandipora were extracting sand from the bank of river wular at Laharwalpora on Saturday morning. However, a man, identified as Waseem Ahmad slipped and fell into the river. One person Bilal Ahmad Dar present on the spot also jumped into the river to save Waseem but failed, then returned back to his village for help in search.
“Efforts were on to retrieve the body of Waseem,” officer added.(PTK)
