“Dew Drops: The Foundation Fundamentals” integrates early learning with experiential, SEL and STEM-based approaches
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 22 (PTK): A new integrated early childhood curriculum titled “Dew Drops: The Foundation Fundamentals”, authored by educator, curriculum designer and author Bhat Bisma, has been introduced with a focus on building strong foundational learning among young learners.
Designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the curriculum brings together four key learning areas—Literacy, Numeracy, General Awareness and Urdu within an integrated and child-friendly framework.
The curriculum adopts an experiential learning approach, encouraging children to learn through observation, exploration, participation and real-life experiences rather than relying solely on conventional classroom instruction.
A key feature of Dew Drops is its emphasis on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), which seeks to support the emotional, social and interpersonal development of children alongside their academic growth. The curriculum also incorporates elements of STEM learning, introducing young learners to foundational concepts through age-appropriate activities and exploration.
The integrated approach aims to make early education more engaging and meaningful by connecting different areas of learning and encouraging children to develop curiosity, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills.
The publication also reflects the broader vision of NEP 2020, which places strong emphasis on foundational literacy and numeracy, holistic development, experiential learning and the development of well-rounded learners.
Author Bhat Bisma, an educator and curriculum designer with more than 12 years of experience, has developed the curriculum with an emphasis on creating a structured yet engaging learning environment for children at the foundational stage.
Dew Drops: The Foundation Fundamentals is presented as a 4-in-1 integrated curriculum, covering Literacy, Numeracy, General Awareness and Urdu, with the objective of supporting children’s academic, social, emotional and cognitive development through a comprehensive learning experience.
The curriculum aims to provide educators and young learners with a foundation that goes beyond textbook-based learning, encouraging exploration, creativity and active participation during the formative years of education.(PTK)
