DC Srinagar Holds Block Diwas at Rajbagh, Assures Time-Bound Redressal of Public Grievances
Srinagar, June 3 (PTK): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, on Tuesday conducted a Grievance Redressal Camp at Joggers Park, Rajbagh, under the ongoing Block Diwas programme aimed at strengthening public outreach and ensuring responsive governance at the grassroots level.
The camp witnessed participation from a large number of residents and representatives from Rajbagh, Ikhrajpora, Jawahar Nagar, Kursu Padshahibagh and other adjoining areas of K.P. Bagh in Tehsil South, who projected various public grievances and developmental demands before the district administration.
The issues raised during the interaction included improvement of civic amenities, infrastructure development, sanitation, drainage systems, road connectivity, street lighting, augmentation of drinking water supply, upgradation of healthcare facilities and several other matters of public importance.
Giving a patient hearing to the participants, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to addressing genuine public concerns in a prompt and effective manner. He directed the concerned officers to examine all issues raised during the camp and ensure timely follow-up for their early resolution.
While reviewing the developmental requirements of the area, Akshay Labroo emphasized that the District Administration remains committed to participatory governance by directly engaging with citizens and incorporating their feedback into planning and execution of developmental projects.
He assured the public that genuine issues, including those involving inter-departmental coordination and jurisdictional matters, would be taken up with the concerned authorities and resolved in a time-bound manner.
The DC stressed the importance of sustained public engagement in ensuring effective service delivery and inclusive development across all localities of the district.
During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner also issued several on-the-spot directions to officers of various line departments present at the venue. While a number of grievances were addressed immediately, other issues requiring detailed intervention were recorded for further action.
He further directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure timely redressal of grievances and effective implementation of developmental works on the ground.
Residents who attended the camp appreciated the initiative and expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to directly interact with the district administration and bring local issues to the notice of authorities.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Secretary SMC Tahir Ahmad Magray, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, District Social Welfare Officer Mohammad Yousuf, Executive Engineers from R&B, Water Works and PDD departments, Deputy CEO Anjuma Raja, Tehsildar South Sajad Rasool Shah and several other district and sectoral officers.(PTK)
