NIT Srinagar Set for Mega Global Alumni Meet ‘SANGAM 3.0’ on May 30

Srinagar, May 24 (PTK): National Institute of Technology Srinagar is all set to host its mega Global Alumni Meet–2026, “SANGAM 3.0,” on May 30, with participation of more than 100 alumni from across the country and abroad.

The preparations for the flagship alumni gathering were reviewed during a meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee of the REC/NIT Srinagar Alumni Association for the term 2026–2029. The meeting was held under the guidance of Dean Alumni and International Affairs, M.A. Shah.

Senior faculty members, organizers and newly elected executive members attended the meeting and discussed arrangements related to reception, registration, hospitality, accommodation, technical sessions, cultural programmes and networking events to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

The committee also finalized logistical preparations for the inaugural function scheduled on May 30. Organisers said the event aims to strengthen institutional bonds and foster collaboration among alumni, students and faculty members.

The detailed report regarding preparations was presented by Associate Dean Alumni and International Affairs, H.S. Pali and Dinesh Kumar Rajendran.

The newly elected Executive Committee for 2026–2029 includes Malay Chatterjee as President, Sayyed Parvaiz Qalandar as Vice President and Irfan Rashid Ashai as General Secretary.

Other office bearers include Fayaz Ahmad Soti, Muzafar Ahmad Beigh, Farhan Manzoor, Sajad Hussain Din, Toyibah, Mohd Hanief Dar and Sajad Ahmad Mir.

In his message, Director National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Binod Kumar Kanaujia said alumni are among the strongest ambassadors of the institute and their achievements continue to inspire the student community.

He said “SANGAM 3.0” would further strengthen the relationship between the institute and its alumni while opening new avenues for academic, research and industry collaboration.

Registrar National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Atikur Rehman said the institute administration is committed to extending full support for the successful conduct of the global alumni meet and termed alumni engagement as an important pillar for institutional growth and development.

Speaking on the occasion, M.A. Shah congratulated the newly elected team and expressed confidence that the association would play a key role in enhancing alumni engagement, mentoring initiatives, academic collaboration and institutional development.

Meanwhile, H.S. Pali highlighted the importance of alumni participation in shaping the institute’s future roadmap and said “SANGAM 3.0” would provide a vibrant platform for interaction and exchange of ideas among alumni across generations.

Vice President Sayyed Parvaiz Qalandar expressed gratitude to the alumni fraternity for reposing trust in the newly elected team and assured that the committee would work with dedication towards strengthening the global alumni network of the institute.

The organisers appealed to alumni of REC/NIT Srinagar across the globe to actively participate in the event and contribute towards strengthening the alumni network of the institute.(PTK)
