ARTO Baramulla Leads Massive Traffic Enforcement Drive, ₹1 Lakh Fine Imposed
Baramulla, May 16 (PTK): Motor Vehicles Department Baramulla on Friday conducted a massive traffic enforcement drive across different parts of Baramulla district under the supervision of Mudasir Ahmad Wani to curb traffic violations and strengthen road safety measures.
Officials said the special checking campaign was carried out by the MVD enforcement team, including Danish and Abdul Hamid, along with other officials targeting violations of transport and traffic regulations.
During the drive, authorities issued 31 challans against violators for various offences and realised fines amounting to nearly ₹1 lakh.
The department also blacklisted 19 vehicles for repeated violations and non-compliance with transport norms.
In a major action, 21 Driving Licences (DLs), Registration Certificates (RCs) and Route Permits (RPs) were recommended for suspension for serious traffic violations and breach of permit conditions.
The enforcement team further seized 14 vehicles for offences including overloading, operating without valid documents and other violations of traffic laws.
ARTO Baramulla said such enforcement drives would continue across the district to ensure strict implementation of traffic rules, encourage responsible driving behaviour and improve road safety for the general public.(PTK)
