Sakeena Itoo Inaugurates International Conference at Govt SPMR College of Commerce Jammu

Jammu, May 14 (PTK): Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo on Wednesday inaugurated a two-day international conference on “Manoeuvring Business, Society and Culture in the New World Order” at Government SPMR College of Commerce Jammu.

The conference was attended by MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu Prof. Dr. K. S. Chandrasekar Rao, Director Colleges Prof. Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, Director CEC UGC Prof. L. Prikshit Manhas, Principal Prof. Sunil Gupta, senior academicians, researchers, policymakers and students from across the country and abroad.

Addressing the gathering, Sakeena Itoo highlighted the transformative role of education in building an inclusive, progressive and innovation-driven society. She stressed the need for academic institutions to promote ethical leadership, social responsibility and global perspectives to effectively address emerging global challenges.

The Minister emphasized collaborative thinking and innovative approaches for ensuring sustainable growth, inclusive development and preservation of cultural values amid rapidly changing global realities. She appreciated the efforts of the college for organising an international academic platform aimed at encouraging meaningful discussions on issues of global significance.

She also interacted with scholars and participants and expressed confidence that the conference deliberations would generate valuable insights and policy-oriented recommendations.

Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi appreciated the initiative and said such academic engagements provide important opportunities for dialogue on pressing socio-economic and cultural challenges faced by modern societies.

Vice Chancellor Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar Rao spoke about the changing dimensions of global business, higher education and cultural integration, stressing adaptability, innovation and intellectual resilience in the modern world.

Director CEC UGC Prof. L. Prikshit Manhas, during his keynote address, highlighted the importance of integrating technology, innovation, MSME learning and research-driven pedagogies to prepare institutions and students for future global challenges.

Principal Prof. Sunil Gupta, in his welcome address, reiterated the institution’s commitment towards academic excellence, quality research and global engagement.

During the event, the Minister also released the Conference Abstract Book featuring scholarly research contributions from academicians and researchers.

Officials informed that the conference will host technical sessions, panel discussions and scholarly interactions over two days with participation of experts from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Fiji, Malaysia and Israel, besides scholars from premier Indian institutions such as the University of Delhi, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.(PTK)
