Jammu, May 10 (PTK): MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi on Saturday encouraged young artists during a Painting and Drawing Competition organised by JK Future Founders at Shree Radha Krishan Mandir in Jagti, emphasising the importance of extracurricular activities in the overall development of children.

The event, organised as part of Mother’s Day celebrations under the theme “My Memory With Mom,” witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 75 students from Classes 4th to 9th.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Yudhvir Sethi appreciated the organisers for providing a meaningful platform for children to express their creativity and emotions through art.

“Children possess immense creativity and such competitions help them express emotions, strengthen family values and build confidence. The theme ‘My Memory With Mom’ beautifully reflects the unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers,” he said.

He also lauded JK Future Founders for regularly organising social, cultural and youth-oriented programmes and stressed that such activities play an important role in supporting the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan by keeping youth engaged in constructive pursuits.

The competition featured two categories comprising students from Classes 4th to 6th and Classes 7th to 9th. Participants creatively depicted themes including mother-child bonding, mothers helping children in studies, sacrifices made by mothers in daily life and symbolic representations of love and care.

To encourage participation, JK Future Founders provided free drawing sheets and stationery kits including colour pencils, sharpeners, erasers and snacks to all participants.

The chief guest later distributed prizes and certificates among winners while all participants received certificates of participation as encouragement for their talent and creativity.

Arvind Karwani, who could not attend due to official commitments, conveyed his blessings and best wishes telephonically to all participants.

The organisers expressed gratitude to Yudhvir Sethi and the management committee of Shree Radha Krishan Mandir for their support in making the event successful.

Parents also appreciated the initiative and praised the creativity displayed by children during the competition.

The programme concluded with words of encouragement for the budding artists, making the Mother’s Day celebration memorable and inspiring for participants and attendees alike.(PTK)
