JMC Commissioner Reviews Civic Issues in Greater Kailash Colony, Assures Timely Action
Jammu, May 09 (PTK): Commissioner of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, Devansh Yadav, on Friday visited Greater Kailash Colony in Jammu and interacted with members of the Greater Kailash Welfare Society regarding various civic issues affecting residents of the locality.
During the interaction, members of the Welfare Society submitted a detailed representation highlighting concerns related to sanitation, drainage, road infrastructure, garbage collection, stray dog menace, maintenance of parks and fountains, repair of mast lights and waterlogging along the main road near Kaluchak.
The society also stressed the urgent need for reconstruction and upgradation of the drainage system, repair of damaged internal lanes, regular cleaning of by-lanes and installation of an entry barrier near the Volkswagen showroom to prevent movement of heavy vehicles allegedly causing damage to roads and public infrastructure.
Residents further raised concerns regarding vacant plots being used for garbage dumping and unauthorised occupation, besides seeking proper maintenance of parks, lane numbering and improved waste management through public awareness initiatives.
Dr. Devansh Yadav gave a patient hearing to the grievances and assured residents that the issues highlighted would be addressed in a phased and systematic manner.
He reiterated the commitment of the Jammu Municipal Corporation towards strengthening civic amenities, sanitation infrastructure, public cleanliness and overall urban development across the city. He also emphasised the importance of public participation and cooperation in maintaining cleanliness and civic discipline in residential colonies.
Members of the Welfare Society appreciated the Commissioner for personally visiting the area, listening to their concerns and assuring timely redressal of the issues raised.(PTK)
