22 Shops Sealed for violating COVID-19 lockdown in Bandipora

Bandipora, 19 May:(PTK)Bandipora administration swung into action and sealed scores of shops for violating closure orders issued in view of COVID-19 outbreak.

Upto 6 pm a total of 22 shops were sealed in different parts across the district including 12 shops in Main market, 5 in Kaloosa, 2 in Putushay, 2 in Watapora and 1 in onagam.

Tehsildar Bandipora along with Dysp Hqr Bandipora Mohammad Idress and SHO Bandipora Mir Saleem swung into action on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shri Shahbaz Mirza and took strict action against violators in their respective jurisdictions.

Many vehicles were also challaned in Tehsil Bandipora for moving without permission or need.“All these shops operating in violation of the restrictions imposed under section 144 CrPc were immediately sealed,” the official said.

The action was initiated after the government ordered shopkeepers to close down the businesses to prevent spread of Covid-19.

We have been repeatedly announcing people to stay indoors and have been urging the traders of Bandipora to close their businesses to curb the spread of coronavirus. Now strict action is being taken against those found violating the government order,” Tehsildar told.
He was accompanied with Dysp Hqr Bandipora Mohammad Idress, SHO Bandipora Mir Saleem, Naib Tehsildar Ab Rashid, Mohammad Ashraf, Ali Mohammad and other officials of department. The administration has been constantly making announcements, appealing people not to come out of their homes unnecessarily and adhere to the health guidelines.(PTK)
