Zalangam Kokernag residents protest against Water Scarcity

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Residents of Sheikh Pora Zalangam in Kokernag Area Of South Kashmirs Anantnag District  on Wednesday blocked Sinthan Larnoo road road for half an hour to protest against the water scarcity in the area for the last 2 Months.

The protesters raised slogans against the public health engineering department for their alleged failure to provide them drinking water.

“The officials concerned had been apprised of the drinking water problem but nothing has been done to mitigate their suffering,” said an Protester.

“Locals added  However, the officials give us false assurances instead of a valid reason for the crisis.”

The blockade was lifted after Station House Officer Kokernag  Sabdar Ahmad reached the spot and assured the protesters of an early solution to their problem.
