Village Defence Guard Martyred in Encounter with Infiltrated Terrorists in J&K
A Village Defence Guard (VDG) member lost his life during a gunfight with recently infiltrated terrorists in a remote village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district Sources told news agency Press Trust of Kashmir
Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Anand Jain, who swiftly arrived at the scene to oversee the anti-terror operation, confirmed the demise of the VDG member and emphasized the ongoing efforts to locate and neutralize the infiltrated terrorists, believed to have crossed over from Pakistan.
As the security forces intensify their search operation, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rayees Mohd Bhat, and other officials paid homage to the fallen VDG member, recognizing his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The encounter, which erupted when one of the security parties came under fire while advancing towards Chochru Gala heights, underscores the unpredictable and perilous nature of counter-terrorism operations in the region.
