Srinagar February 10(PTK) Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of the National Panthers Party and a Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of India, in a hard-hitting statement expressed his shock and anger over the decision of the Union Government to reverse the rule on the age limit for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) every year
It is a pathetic state of affairs where almost thousands of youth have been affected by the ludicrous decision of the Central Government. Furthermore, the Union government has done away with five years age relaxation granted to the Jammu and Kashmir youth in the Civil Services Examinations since 1990 when militancy had spread in Jammu and Kashmir.
The obnoxious decision taken by the Union Government will augment the acrimonious feelings, which the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have towards the ruling government. It is of paramount concern to note that the puerile decision was taken in February 2020, without looking at the ramifications it would have on the thousands of aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir, who were preparing for the Civil Services Examination since last year and were looking forward to taking their attempt on the 31st of May 2020. Moreover, the Union Government took the erratic decision just three months before the Civil Services Examination is to be conducted by the UPSC for 2020 and did not bother to look at the aspirants who have been assiduously preparing for their exams since the last few years.
Prof. Bhim Singh has said that he will take the matter with the President of India for his immediate intervention to save the career of thousands of budding youths in Jammu and Kashmir, which is under the President’s rule.(PTK)
